nextmag ist ein Paket von Software-, Layout- und Workflow-Modulen zur Veröffentlichung und zum optimierten Vertrieb von Text-, Audio- und Video-Inhalten auf die neue Generation von (multi-) Touch-fähigen Geräten, wie das iPad, iPhone, Windows7- oder Android-Tablets. nextmag besteht aus einem – ggf. für die spezifische Publikation im Layout angepassten – Programm, das vom Leser auf das Tablet installiert wird. Aus diesem „Kiosk“-Programm werden die verschiedenen Ausgaben der Tablet-Magazine geöffnet – ein nextmag schließt also die Lücke zwischen einem Print-Produkt und einer Website und bietet die Vorteile beider Welten.

Overview

nextmag is a packet of software, layout and workflow solutions for publishing text, video and audio content optimised for the newest generation of (multi-) touch enabled devices like the iPad, iPhone, Windows7 or Android tablets. nextmag consists of a piece of software - if necessary adapted to the specific layout needs of the publication - that is installed on the device by the user. This "kiosk" program is used to purchase and open the different issues of a tablet magazine. A nextmag publication closes the gap between a print magazine and a website and offers the advantages of both worlds.

Multiclient-Fähigkeit

Durch eine dem Leser sich direkt erschließende Steuerung durch gewohnte und native Berührungsgesten (Blättern, Scrollen, Interagieren) definiert nextmag mit den damit möglichen multiclient touch magazines eine völlig neue Gattung von Medien. Durch die flexible Struktur, die nicht an eine Hardware-Plattform (z.B. das iPad) gebunden ist, sondern über Hardwaregrenzen hinweg eingesetzt werden kann, wird der Zielmarkt deutlich vergrößert und Aufwand für die Belieferung von Nischenprodukten vermieden.

Multi Client Use

Using intuitive native gesture interfacing (flipping, sliding, scrolling, interaction) nextmag enables a completely new type of media. With the flexible and open structure that is not bound to a specific hardware platform (e.g. the iPad) but can be used across different platforms and operating systems, the target market can be greatly enlarged and the overhead of catering to different platforms and niche products can be reduced.

Inhaltspflege

Zur Pflege der Inhalte können bestehende CMS-Systeme (sowohl Web- als auch Print-basiert) zum Einsatz kommen. Durch flexible Import-Schnittstellen kann nextmag auf Basis der definierten Grundtemplates und ggf. erstellter Spezialtemplates dynamische multiclient-optimierte Magazine erzeugen, ohne dass dafür spezielle Softwarekenntnisse oder -Anschaffungen notwendig sind.

Content Management

Existing content management systems (web- as well as print-based) can be used for editing nextmag content. With flexible content import structures nextmag can be used to create multiple multipclient optimised magazines based on previously defined base templates and/or specifically defined layout templates. Specific software, software knowledge or hardware is not required.
