Die nextmag-Architektur besteht aus einer Schnittstelle zu bestehenden CMS-Systemen, einem Converter/Renderer für client-spezifische Zielformate und Client-Software zur Darstellung der Inhalte.
The workflow and software architecture of nextmag consists of an interface to an existing content mangement system, a converter/renderer for client specific target formats and client software for displaying the content on the different clients.

Systemaufbau Server

nextmag arbeitet als „Black Box“ auf einem Server und verarbeitet aus beliebigen Quellen eingehende XML-, Video-, Audio- und Bild-Inhalte zu für die verschiedenen Clients optimierten Inhalten. Hierbei können bestehende Content-Management-Systeme (Online und Print) angesprochen werden und eine Vorschau auf das fertige Magazin in bestehende Systeme zurückgegeben werden.

Server System Overview

nextmag runs as a "black box" on a server and converts XML, video, audio and image content from multiple sources into content bundles optimised for the different client hardware setups. Existing content management systems (online and print) can be used and nextmag can output a pre-rendered preview for the finished product to the CMS.

Systemaufbau Client

Eine systemspezifischer und ggf. an das Publikations-Layout angepasste Client-Software dient als „Kiosk“ zur Betrachtung der von nextmag zur Verfügung gestellten redaktionellen Inhalte. Diese Applikation kann über die dem Client entsprechenden Vertriebskanal (iTunes Store, Android Market, etc) bezogen werden, die einzelnen Inhalte werden getrennt (als paid content oder kostenlos) gebündelt nachgeladen.
Zur Kodierung der Daten kommt ein auf aktuellen Web-Standards basierendes nicht-proprietäres Austauschformat zum Einsatz, so dass absolute state-of-the-art Technologie zur Darstellung der redaktionellen Inhalte zum Einsatz kommen.

Client System Overview

System specific client software that has been adapted to fit the layout of the publication works a "kiosk" for obtaining and displaying the nextmag content. This application can be obtained via the client specific purchasing option (iTunes Store, Android Market, etc.). The specific "issues" of magazin content can be downloaded (for a fee or for free) in bundles later.
Content is bundled and prepared using a proprietory formate based on current web standards, so that state of the art technology can be used for displaying editorial content.
